Futura, Italy's only entry this year, is sponsored by Italy's largest manufacturer of solar cells, Eurosolare.
Sunlight is the "fuel" of solar racing cars. The solar cells convert the sunlight into electricity.
A bit of R&R in the workshop near the end of the day. Some team members have stayed up all night putting the finishing touches on their cars.
A few last minute systems checks. Most teams uses computerised telemetry to monitor, and log, the condition of the battery, the solar array, and the motor.
Off loading the car for scrutineering. Most teams have dedicated trailers to transport their cars when not racing.
